carlos is doing good! everyone here works a lot and a lot have to work on sunday so we actually finally got to confirm him this week. but he seems interested in gospel doctrines and asks questions and the ward is taking him in pretty well.
rafaela said she wanted to learn more cause she was supposed to be baptized this week. i thought that was just an excuse but she still was at church this week so that was good! we are teaching quite a few people right now. this week im sure i will have a better idea of who is firm.
i shop at this market called dia on pdays. its pretty big, nice, and cheap. my food lasted the whole week this week so that was a lot better. every day for lunch is rice, beans, and some type of meat. also usually a little salad or something and then dessert. i havent gotten tired of it and im actually liking beans now. havent had any really bad food yet so thats a good sign.
i think its summer haha. its pretty hot. like it was 96 i think this week. and 96 is muchhhh different when you are outside all day in a shirt and tie lol. but we get a good amount of rain too that cools it down.
yeah next week is transfers! i think we will stay together. there is a chance we go to brasilandia where we have been kind of working this transfer. but its a closed area right now but we heard it might open back up and we would be the ones to go there cause we alreaddy know the bishop and stuff. but i think it may not open now. im really hoping we stay cause i like freguesia do o. we are getting along well. we are good friends honestly. next transfer is his last. that might be a little tough for me honestly. the end just seems pretty far away right now, so it might be tough watching him the whole transfer get ready to go home. but itll be ok im glad im with him honestly he is awesome! there are a couple members i am getting closer with. it will come better with the language. my speaking definitely improved this week and i got the tough tenses down. i feel like i may not know all the little vocab words but i can talk in every tense past present or future. my understanding still struggles. i was discouraged this week but just need to keep working. they just talk soooo fast. if they slow down and i hear them clearly i can understand almost everything
that is so crazy and sad about your seminary class. i will pray for those kids. its tough what kids have to deal with these days and a lot of them just care too much about what other people think.
thank you for the talk! i know that all challenges are for my good. i know ill grow so much because of the challenges on my mission. the time after my first two transfers will be much faster and just go smoother cause the language will be more natural. so part of me just wants to get there, but i know there is a lot for me to learn in the next couple months.
i still struggle thinking about sally a lot. not as much worrying about whether she will be there, but just missing her. i think pretty much everything reminds me of her haha. but i know that will get easier with time too. im just not sure what else i can do at this point to get her out of my mind.
i have no idea about christmas. im sure i will figure it out in the next two weeks.
so are you able to track my bday package and know where it is??
also, can you do me a favor. i just had a thought that i think you totally need to friend alison and mike eckel on facebook!! just so you guys can be at least familiar with each other. i cant believe you guys havent met yet, they are awesome. so if you could just friend them for me i would love that. dont do it today cause its my pday, but just set a reminder in your phone for tomorrow or something.
you seriously made me tear up that last paragraph. mom, you have no idea how lucky and blessed i am to have you as a mom. being thousands of miles from home really makes you realize that. i know we have many fun holidays in our future, but im sure these ones may be a little tough.
i love you mom!
