Grayson and Mom on a Mission

Hi sweetie!  I can't wait to hear about your week!  I hope it was a week of hard work that paid off.  I hope you saw some blessings this week.  How did it go with your Mission President?  Tell me all about it! We had a good week.  Dad was off work, Abby was off of school and Sam was here most of the week ( he went' to Trey's ranch for a couple of days).  Sam got his first deer so he was really excited about that.  Now we have about 20 lbs of deer meat in the freezer...eek!  We saw a couple of just OK movies... nothing good is out right now at all!  New Years Eve we had our Fondue night and I sent you some pictures of that.  We had the Smiths, Waltons, Tius and Kevin over.  Chels and Erik had to work and Ama and PopPop are in CA because Ama had a show for NYE.  We played some fun games and of course Dad cracked everyone up.  One of the games is the one where you put that dental piece in your mouth so no one can und...

Hi momma!! yesterday was awesome. thank you guys for giving me so much happiness and motivation! Its hard to explain but it truly just gave me so much happiness to see you guys. Its passed tho and im kinda glad because i can just forget about everything for a while and give everything i have here in brazil. Im ready for that period to start where the time is the absolute fastest on the mission. Missionaries have told me it starts between 5-7 months. And i know the only way i will start to have that period is by working so absolutely hard, being obedient, forgetting my self, and relying and trusting in my Heavenly Father more than anything. Im doing my best to do all those things right now and im excited where they will take me.  They are seriously such a great family that we were able to hang out with. Lima da Silva said it might be the family i remember most about my mission just cause something like them is super rare. We will write letters to them to thank them soon.  ...

Hello young man. What a perfect day to get to talk with you!  I'm so glad that 90% of it was happy and fun.  It seriously was the only thing I really cared about for Christmas this year.  You look so good, G!  And you are becoming a great man.  I know right now this seems so incredibly tough but you are so strong and I am amazed watching you rise above the difficulties in your life.  You have such a great attitude and you are teaching me everyday to be better. oh my gosh mom thank you so much. it really means a lot to me and seeing that picture made me so so so so freaking happy. im glad you were able to see her. im jealous of you for getting to see her and im jealous of her for getting to see you! i cant believe dani is pregnant again! thats pretty crazy. im happy for her tho and im glad the funeral went well. thats awesome you got to be back at church in byu!!! Good morning my wonderful son! How was your week? I will start my letter with the obvious, I did visit with Sally (see our selfie) briefly yesterday and brought her sodalicious cookie:) along with a few little study treats. It was freezing outside so it was just a brief visit but it was really fun. She thought it was so cute that you wanted her to have the sodalicious cookie! I had a really good weekend in Utah and the funeral for Dani's mom was really great. She was a really amazing woman and I know it's really hard for those girls to lose their mother! Dani is pregnant again with another little girl so it's bittersweet that her mom will miss out on this but it's an exciting time! I'm sure her mom is preparing that little girl to come down here. hi mommy! so first off....daniel and alexandre have been major bummers this week. daniel hasnt answered our many calls and we talked with alexandre and he kinda just said he has lots of committments with his church around christmas time but he will continue reading the book of mormon. so hopefully that will at least help. but its super sad about both of them. Our investigator that was in church last week, elaine, committed to baptism this next sunday!! im praying that everything goes through. it just feels like its been a while and im happy we will get another chance to baptize and bring her unto the gospel. she drinks a lot of coffee and in our lesson she just said she needs a little time to stop so im hoping that is all going good with her right now. i believe we teach her one more time wednesday night and then her interview would be thursday night! that is awesome news, but honestly for the first time in my whole mission i feel like our list is dwindling in size and strength. so im ...

Hello my beautiful son!!! How was your week?  We have been praying for Alexandre and Daniel and his family.  How did that go with them this week?  Tell me all about it! We don't have a lot to report.  Unfortunately we walked away from the contract on our flip house.  I met with a foundation company and there were just too many unknowns.  So I'm now searching for another opportunity.  I hope we will find something soon. Dad and I are still really sick!  We kinda got better during the week but this weekend hit us hard and we are out of it!  Just really bad colds but my body is so achey.   Another sad thing... we found out today (Sunday) that Dani's mom passed away this morning.  She has been battling cancer for a few years now so I guess it was expected, but it feels really sudden too.  I feel so bad for her and her family.  I'm going to try to get out to the funeral in Utah next Saturday.  I'm try...

hi mommy! i know three months is pretty awesome! most americans and hispanics go home about a month early so that means im officially out of the 20 something month range! that feels good lol. but yeah the last two weeks especially have been fast for me. so i cant imagine around the 6 or 7 month mark how fast it will be going. i still dont know about christmas but i am sooooo excited. i told my comp we need to figure out where this week but hes just super chill about that stuff and especially now cause he goes home 2 weeks after christmas anyway. but we have a family we think we might be able to do it at. they are pretty poor and dont have a ton of room so that kinda sucks but they are super awesome and the dad sells laptops on the side and i think we might be able to use them for skype. btw we totally reactivated this family!! they werent coming to church before we got here and we just visited them a lot and created a good relationship with them and they have been at church 4 weeks in ...

Well you've hit your 3 month mark!  It seems like we were just talking about 2 months.  It feels like time is beginning to speed up a little for me.  It seemed soooo slow at first.  That is so awesome!  And the other great news.... It is December and that means I get to see you and talk to you in just 3 weeks!!!  I CANNOT wait!!!  What do you know about that yet?  Do you know where you will be able to skype from?  Sam and I always did a practice test the night/day before to make sure the connection works.  You can't cheat.  We don't look at each other.  We just stay on for 1 minute to test the connection.  We should try to do that.
