It really has been so good. Like I said I really think the announcement was made at the perfect time in my mission. I think just as im heading home in these last 6 months will be perfect for me.  I love that idea of running a business with sam as well. I think we should hit it even harder on these 4 wheelers as well cause it seems like ther is a ton of money in that. But yeah that would be super cool.  Really? I think that is cool. I thikn you would be a good LPN. Just do something that you would enjoy doing! I think it would be great for yalls financial situation as well.  Its been pretty hard these few weeks learning everyhting. But im getting more of a hang of it now. My phone literally does ring NON STOP it actually sucks. Its definitely annoying when we are out working, or its pday, or its the weekend. Cause i wont be able to do ANYTHING For them but they still call its annoying.  IN the area, it definitely has started kinda slow. But now that me...

hi love!  It has been SO fun to talk to you face to face these last two weeks.  I think it made Dad's day to get to talk to you.  BTW we had a great dinner that night with some seriously delish desserts! We will definately need to take you there after you get home. We had Sam home the past weekend which was fun. He spent a lot of time looking at property.  He posted on fb about his new company S&G land and leasing.  He said he wants to do the business with you.  I love thinking that you guys might have a business together!  I went with him and Stanton to a place about 1 hour 45 mins away after church on Sunday.  This is an actual place they want to lease for themselves to hunt on.  It looked like a pretty good set up.  I think Bro Nielsen (Cutter's dad) is going to do it with them too. I had a good week.  I've been looking into going back to school to either become an ultrasound tech or an LPN (Licensed practicing nurse - n...

Official Announcement: Missionaries can call and video chat with families every week!

Effective immediately, missionaries may communicate with their families on their weekly preparation day via text messages, online messaging, phone calls and video chat in addition to letters and emails. Previously, missionaries relied primarily on email and letters for communication.  See the official notice to Church leaders . “Regular communication with their families is an important part of a missionary’s service,” said the First Presidency in a statement. “One of the major purposes of this adjustment is to encourage families to be more involved in their missionary’s efforts and experiences.” Under these new guidelines, missionaries are encouraged to use judgment in determining the length of phone calls and video chats and to be considerate of their companions. Additionally, to avoid disruption to missionary schedules, family members are asked not to initiate calls or chats but instead should wait for the missionary to contact them on his or her weekly preparation day...

Hi love! This is exciting that you have the opportunity to serve as the Financial secretary!  I know you have mixed feelings about the work you've been able to do... but Sam said 10-4 is probably the least productive time for missionary work anyway and that after 4pm you can still do a lot for the work.   So I have some questions: 1. Was this another emergency transfer? I thought you still had another week or two until transfers.  If so, how come?  Also, what is happening now with your old companion? When did you get assigned there? 2. Do you have a companion?  Who is it? 3. Where do you live? Do you have pictures? 4. What work will you be doing exactly?  Do you run all of the financial operations?  Like paying rent, reimbursing missionaries, debit cards, etc?? That seems like so much work!  How is it going so far? Are you learning? Who is teaching you? Does it seem like work you can handle? 5. How many missionaries...

ok so i have quite a bit to tell you. There is a lot of new things i guess with this new calling. Im pretty excited. I know it will be a good experience for me. and holy crap i know this doesnt matter a ton right now, but this will be literally incredible for me to put on my resume.  It was an emergency transfer, but that is kinda normal for the secretaries. cause i am going through a period of 2 weeks of training with the old financial secretary. its impossible to do the training quickly but president also doesnt want him staying here for a whole transfer to train me. So usually the secretaries are always transfered by emergency. My old comp is with a new Zone Leader. Its a guy who just got called to be a ZL and hes a good cool guy so im excited for him to take over my investigators. President honestly told me last tuesday after the misison leadership meeting. It was kinda funny. He called me in but i thought he was gonna talk with me about my mission card that was hacked, but...

Letter to my 17 year old self

Dear Grayson,  This is your 21 year old self on your mission. First off I would like to let you know how happy I am. I want to let you know that there exists so much more than the little box you are in right now. There exists such greater happiness than just things of the world. The feeling and joy you'll have bringing souls unto Christ is much greater than you can imagine.  I wish you would realize the importance the Gospel could have in your life. There's so much more to these things that will  have an eternal impact. I wish you would understand better repentance and learn to use it daily in your life. Experience the atonement of Jesus Christ and feel him wiping away your past. Experience the joy that Christ feels in you when a lost sheep of His decides to make his way back. Feel the sweet joy that Alma talks about in Alma 36:21. Read the Book of Mormon and find out that it is true! Say your prayers and start to feel your relationship with Heav...

yo yo momma! what the heck? how is that possible that they are signing up for housing already?? I seriously have no idea who i wanna live with. Well i wanna live with isaac honestly. Is there a way to sign up now for a place and leave him as an option locked in as my roomate or something? If isaac doesnt get in, im gonna have to talk to some other friends from freshman year. Id also live with Calvin or with some guys from the mission, but they will all be home later. So i really have no idea....ugh. And also I really dont know about where I wanna live. I would just trust in sam where he thinks it would be good. Cause i know absolutely nothing about housing off campus at byu.  that is awesome that you talked with elder Longhurst. He seems like such a nice guy. Im so glad for what he did for dad. And his son looks pretty cool. There are lots of Brazilians in atlanta so maybe he'll get to know some. Im gonna write him, but im gonna use the smartphone this week to make a draft then...

Hi my love!  So I have a few things I want you to think about before we talk Monday.  1. First of all, it was not on my radar but fall housing contracts are now being signed. So I have to get on it this week! Do u have any ideas of who u want to live with and where? I asked sam about places young return Missionaries would like to live. He mentioned liberty square (which I think may already be sold out), King Henry, and he said his lanai ward is great but that is really hard to get into too. Isaac won’t know if he’s been accepted until later this month.  2. I got in touch with Elder (Norm) Longhurst!!! We actually talked in the phone for 1 1/2 hours and had a great conversation! He’s so humble and kind. It was pretty special to have they oooortunity to thank him for his sacrifice and example to our family. I think it meant a lot to him. He asked me lots of questions about you and is so humbled you want to write him. He has a son serving in Atlanta that has been out almost ...
