Grayson and Mom on a Mission

Thank you for the sweet words mom. Im so happy to have made this decision in my life. I owe so many things to this decision. Im so grateful for the chance to be able to have sacrificed a little for the Lord. He did so much for me and blessed me with so much. I really felt like ive treated this experience more as a privilege than a sacrifice. It really has been a privilege to serve the Lord and do a little bit of work for Him. I love that He gave me a chance to do this.  I couldnt have done it without you along the way momma. Im so grateful for you. I couldnt have asked for a better stabled mom to help me along the way. You are such a spiritual rock for me and Im so grateful that you have been able to show me and teach me so many things. Youve been there for me in the highs and the lows. I cant wait to give you a big hug in 7 days! I cant wait to tell stories and be back together with all our family! Im soooo excited! Love you momma! Elder G

Hi my love!! Abby and i are sitting at the airport ready to take off for home. There are tons of Missionaries leaving here. We’re watching them say goodbye to their families and it’s heartbreaking to watch but it’s exciting to know in two weeks you will be with us! I think back to when we were saying goodbye to you and it seems so long ago. But in another way the time has gone quickly and I can’t believe in two weeks you’ll be home with us!  We had a great week here! Spencer‘s talk was phenomenal and the whole meeting was really great. They do pretty big farewell celebrations here so Noelle had lunch for about 70 people at her house right after church. We worked really hard to pull that off and it was a lot of fun. hello momma!!!  So yes Luis is gonna be baptized and I couldnt be happier! On Sunday after sacrament meeting I was talking with some people and the bishop came over and told me he wanted to talk with me and my comps. We followed him up to the stand and I realized Luis was up there on the stand already talking with a counselor and our ward mission leader. My heart started beating fast immediately as I already had an idea of what maybe could happen. He told us that he had decided about 2 months ago that he was gonna be baptized and then he chose this date because it was the only weekend that both I and his son will be at home (his son gets home from BYU I on the 1st). I felt such an overwhelming joy in that moment, it was hard to hold in the tears. I feel so happy for this man. Ive grown to love him and have a great friendship with him. (Btw him and his wife have already talked about visiting us in Texas here in a couple years when their son gets back from his mission!). I felt s...

Yeah the baptism was really fun. I always say that i look for experiences on the mission, and that was one of them. lol Dr. Rey is a really strange dude. but im grateful for him cause hes a missionary! He helped us out a lot with her. idk if it would have happened if it wasnt for him. She said that she felt a lot of peace after her decision. She said she felt really great about what she had decided so that was exciting. We confirmed her on sunday and it was really good. The ward did really well with her and she is really excited to go to the temple to baptize her brother who died last year. She also even wants to get her patriarchal blessing cause i think dr. rey talked a bit about it with her. The rest of the week went well! Lots of searching for new people. We havent had a ton of success but im not worried. I know the Lord will bless us in His time. Like I said that family didnt go to church, but i think they are all good still. ok so actually she hasnt been baptized, but it seems like we are gonna baptize her tonight! hahah its a long and complicated story and she has been very difficult. But it seems like its gonna work out tonight. Dr. Rey is here and she seems to be down for tonight.
