alright well good news is Pamela is all good. Long story short, is i hate to say this but our bishop in this ward really will not to anything for us. so we called up another member in our ward who was a mission president a few years ago. right away he said he would visit them. It turned out alright. everything is kinda back to normal now. Pamela said she was repenting that whole nighht for saying those things haha. she still didnt go to church this week but she said it had nothing to do with that. she said the baby was up all night. but rafael and their oldest kid still walked to church! they are still arguing a lot as a couple and we are gonna start tonight being more serious with them and teaching a real lesson everytime we are there about humility, blaming others, etc.  So joão talked with his dad and told him he wanted to baptized. the dad talked with us and said he wasnt gonna allow it and didnt even wanna let him go to church anymore (ughhh). i have no idea why he wouldnt...

Good morning my favorite missionary!  First, before I forget, what picture do you want on your second year missionary journal? I’m getting a package ready to send next week so let me know if you need anything in particular. I’m going to send some dollar bills like you asked earlier. Although I’m pretty sure it’s illegal so I’ll have to hide them. I’m such a rebel;) So now, tell me all about your week. I’m so interested to hear about Pamela. I’ve been praying for her this week. How about Gabriella and João? I’m hoping you have found a way to meet some new people too. Whatever your week has brought you, I hope you’re feeling some peace and joy that you’ve remained in Sardim. I know you are needed there.   We had a low key week. We lowered the price of our investment house and we had a couple of showings but we still haven’t had a lot of interest. I think it’s just a slow time of year. Although I did list the Schmidt’s house and we had two offers the day that we listed it! I...

well mom, first about the transfer. Im staying here! with jairo! It was a little bit of a surprise but im honestyl good with it. its not a super big deal to me and i could never go against the revelation that president recieves.  well 2nd. so we went to pamela and rafaels house today to tell them about the transfer cause they wanted so bad that we would stay. we told them about it and they were super happy. after we went to play soccer with rafael and the other missionaries in our district. after we got home pamela told us she didnt plan on going to church anymore. Honestly i couldnt give you a reason that she said cause it sounded like BS that has nothing to do with the church. they are having problems in their marital relationship and that is what is truly causing all this. She has always been a little crazy but i think ive seen it all now mom. She said she isnt going to church anymore because of something that rafael said to her. I know its confusing and im honestly out of m...

Hi sweet boy of mine! So what is the news on transfers?  You've had such a great few months in Sorocoba I'm sure it will be difficult to leave ... if you are leaving.   How was you week?  Was Gabriela able to be baptized?  How about Joao and Rosaria?  Are they progressing? I think about Pamela and Rafael a lot and feel so excited for their future.  I loved the video last week.  So sweet to see the ward come together for them.   We had a bit of a crazy week.  Lots of good and some bad too.  Im sure Sam will tell you but he had an accident on his scooter.  I sent you some pics of his injuries.  He can give you more of the details but I think it came down to a driver who was texting and almost hit Sam head on.  He jerked to get out of the way and slid on his scooter.  He has some very nasty road rash.  He said when the doctor was cleaning his wounds, it was the most pain he has ever experienced...

WEEK WAS INCREDIBLE! well the whole week actually no, but who cares cause the baptism and wedding were absolutely incredible. I think i just baptized a family that will be in the temple here in a year and will have 4 kids who serve missions, mom. I am soooooo happy. Can you imagine the fruit of this baptism? This is literally what i had pictured in my mind when i thought about a mission as a kid. I thought of a picture with everyone in white ready to be baptized. this week, i got that!!! The "legal" part of the wedding on wednesday was cool. NOthing crazy special but they were super happy and it all went great and we got good pics. I even got to be a witness of their wedding and sign on the paper! Then we had the ceremony and baptism on saturday. More that 65 people showed up!!! our goal was 30! We did get to bring 2 investigators which was cool. HE CRIED MOM! She walked into the room while "perfect" by ed sheeran was playing (talk about trunky lol). He then sta...

Hi love!  I am so excited to hear about your week!  How was the wedding?  How were the baptisms?  I thought about you all day Wednesday and Saturday hoping it was a wonderful event for R&P and their family.  Tell me everything! What else happened this week?  What are you doing for pday?  Did some of your other investigators come to the baptism on Saturday?   We had a good week.  Riggs got shaved and he looks so tiny and cute!  He looks like Lyla's son.  She owns him!  lol.  They really don't do well when they are separated.  Lyla ran all over the house looking for Riggs and when she couldn't find him, she just laid down on the floor with her eyes open and didn't move until he got home.  Then the groomers did exactly what we told them not to do... shave his butt.  So now he is scooting around on his butt trying to scratch it on the carpet..UGH.  We went back and got a refund but I'm so m...

Hi momma! Pamela and Rafael are super super firm!!!! Marriage is on Wednesday, Baptism on saturday and confirmation on sunday! what an amazing and spiritual week it will be. im super excited. There kids are soooo cute. It takes a while for them to get used to new people so they are just now starting to mesh with us and we play with them and its so fun. So João is a 12 year old boy whose friend in our ward has brought to church a few times. The past 3 weeks he hasnt gone to church for some reason or another. Its been a little frustrating but we will try to get him to church one more time this week and baptize him the next week. He is maybe the poorest person ive worked with in Brazil. His dad doesnt have a job and collects trash like aluminum and stuff to sell for cents literally. There is lots of people that do that here but most of them are homeless. But João has a home its just very very run down. We actually helped them sort the trash on Saturday morning when we showed up at his hou...

Hello young man!  How is my favorite missionary?  I can't wait to hear about your week. How are Pamela and Rafael?  I love the pictures you sent last week with their kids.  I want to hear more about  João, Rynatan, and  Lais.  I'm pretty sure I'm mispronouncing all of their names when I pray for them:) lol   You are going to hit your 9 month mark this week!  Can't believe it!   So the first thing to update you on... Dr. Watkins was out for a run this week and was hit by a car.  He is still in the hospital and we don't have much info but I do know the area he runs has a speed limit of 55 mph and so I'm worried it was a very bad accident.  Sister Leland, who is a teacher at light farms, said that his injuries are significant and that he will probably not ever return to the same as he was.  So we are really praying for his recovery.  I'm pretty shaken up by it.  Life can change so quickly.  He wil...
