What is up Elder G?!!!

How was your week my sweet boy?  I have thought about you so much this week.  Just missing you and allowing myself to get excited to be talking to you in two weeks!!!!!  I'm kinda freaking out!  Are you excited?

Tell me all about your week.  What do you need from us?  What can we pray for?  Who can we pray for?  How have you seen the hand of the Lord in your life this week?  You had another Zone meeting, right?  How did that go?  Tell me about how your training is going.

We had a productive week.  We are full steam ahead on the flip house.  We worked our butts off this week and I have the blisters and sore muscles to prove it.  UGH!  I'm hoping this is our most difficult week.  We had to remove so much tile!  We had to use this jack hammer kind of tool that gets the tile off... then there is all this thinset (like the grout/glue that holds the tile onto the floor) that needed to come up.  I sent a video to you and hopefully you can see it. You use the same tool and just have to get all of that stuff off of the concrete.  It took us about 5 hours between me, dad and PopPop but we got it done.  I didn't think I'd be able to walk the next day but I felt pretty good.  We got rid of all the countertops, old appliances and carpet.  We are finishing up a few items on all the demo this week and then the painters come in on Friday.  It's all torn up now, but once the painters come in, it all starts getting rebuilt.  It's gonna look so great:)  That is pretty much all we did this week.  We were too tired at night to do anything else.  LOL  It is such hard work, but we are both having a lot of fun.  It is such a creative thing for me and I love it!

Seminary is down to our final 4 weeks!  We started Ether 1 today.  I love the story of the Brother of Jared (his name according to Joseph Smith is Mahonri Moriancumer... just what you want to name your first born, right?) and his lessons about prayer. When he prayed for their language to not be confounded, the Lord had compassion on them and blessed them with his request.  Later, they were wondering where they should now go and so the Brother of Jared cried to the Lord to know where they should go.  They were blessed to be taken to the promised land... the most wonderful place on the entire Earth. They were also promised they would become a great nation.  All because the prayed to know where they should go next.  I read a story to my class today about a woman who was house shopping and had many disappointments with homes she didn't get.  She finally found one that she totally loved!  She was with her friend when she saw it and she asked her friend to pray about it for her.  As she prayed, she asked the Lord that if it was not contrary to His will, that the woman would be able to get this home to live in, OR something better.  It surprised the woman that the friend prayed for that or something better.  She had never considered praying for something better than she could conceive.  But the lesson is, none of us would wish to limit or restrain the Lord by the smallness of our vision or hopes or requests.  I know the Lord loves to bless his children and reward their obedience.  And sometimes it takes a while to receive those wonderful blessings, but when we finally do, we recognize that it was by His hand that we were blessed.  I think this applies to you so much when I think about how things have gone with Sally.  Trust the Lord and ask for his blessings and something better.  I pray for that for you all the time.

I had a PPI last night for seminary and I asked that I can get a team teacher for next year.  I'm hoping that will help give me some flexibility to go to visit Sam and Abby a couple of times.  Plus it will feel sooooo much easier to prepare lessons every other week!  I have LOVED teaching (and studying) the book of Mormon this year.  I wish I was more excited about the D&C for next year, but it is probably the scripture I know the least about so it will good for me.  How is your OT study going?

I love you baby boy.  All I can think about is talking to you in 2 weeks!  When are your transfers?  You should still be in Sorocaba right?  Let me know when you have some details about times.  We have church at 8:30 -11:30 which is 10:30-1:30 your time, but we can make anything work.  I"M SO EXCITED!!!!

I love you so very much!  You are in our conversations all the time!  We love you, miss you and pray for you every day... multiple times.

I can't wait to chat today!

Good morning my sweet boy! How was your week? I’m hoping there were some baptisms and the people followed through on their commitments:) Did you love conference? One of my favorite things about it was how I knew we were sitting there doing the exact same thing at the same time! That was comforting to me. I absolutely loved it! If you didn’t get a chance to watch the women’s broadcast you should try. I will send you an Ensign conference edition when it gets here so you can read all the talks again and study them. I feel like I received many personal messages from the talks. So many of them focused on our ability to stay faithful and receive comfort during trials... not one minute of our suffering is wasted. It is all for our good and our growth. That was one of the messages that I took away and feel strengthened by.  I also felt a recommitment to strengthening my conversion. That also seemed to be a theme of conference. Are we living the gospel by going through the motions and check...

Hey buddy!    I’m glad I finally get a chance to sit down and write. Baby stuff has taken over my life but we are very excited to have Harper with us in the next few weeks. Excited for you to meet your new little cousin when you return. Sounds like you are doing really well! I know you’ve had minor struggles and home sickness along the way, but it’s good to see you pumped and positive. Sounds like you’re doing a great job!     Hey listen, I know everyone has chimed in on the girl situation and you’re probably tired of talking about it at this point, but I wanted to try to talk to you about it as well because I’ve had the unwelcome pleasure of going through 3 life changing heart breaks that I never thought I’d recover from so I can speak to you from experience and hopefully put some perspective on things.     I had been with Alicia for 5 years, we were in love but it was more than that. It was how the family loved her, how much I loved her family and ...
