Hi Sweetie!
First of all, last week, my last two emails didn't go thru to you so you probably thought I just walked away from our conversation! I would never do that! So you may have a few of the same email today in your inbox because I was trying to resend it a few times.
And speaking of pday conversations, next Monday we will be traveling back from Utah. I should have landed by the time you get online, but just in case I don't respond, we could be on a delayed flight or something. In texas I think we are just two hours behind you now.
So we are leaving for Utah on Wednesday night! I'm so excited for Syd's wedding! It's going to be fun to have some family time. On Friday night, there is a rehersal dinner in Bountiful, Saturday at 3 is the wedding at the Draper Temple and then the reception that night. On Sunday, anyone who hasn't left yet will come over to Noelle's for a brunch. We are also trying to meet Sam's mission president while we are there. I'm really hoping we can make it work. How are you feeling about your mission president and his wife? Are you getting to know them better? Do you feel like you are learning from him?
Well, today we close on our first flip house!!! I am so excited! I'll have some "before" pics for you next week. We are trying to complete the rennovation in 1 month. It will be tight but I think we can do it. We're gonna be really busy!
Abby had a big week with senior pictures and prom. She looked so gorgeous and had a great time. I'm sure she will fill you in.
Noelle told us a great story about President Nelson that I wanted to tell you. You have probably heard that at 93 years old, he is still an avid skier! So crazy! But then again, he does not act like he is 93! Anyway, Elder Zwick spoke to Noelle's stake and he is a skiing partner with Pres. Nelson. He said last November (before he was actually the prophet) the two of them were out skiing. It was really cold so their faces were covered by goggles and a face mask. The two of them sat down on the ski lift and as he said, a guy kinda hot dogged his way to the lift and quickly sat down right in between Pres. Nelson and Elder Zwick and pulled down the bar. He said within a few minutes the guy starts pouring out his heart about his troubles... he felt like he was losing his wife and his business and his life was falling apart. He had the strongest impression that he was supposed to go skiing today which sounded ridiculous to him since he was in such a mess but he decided to go skiing but not knowing why. Elder Zwick looked at the guy and said, "buddy, you're in luck!" LOL. Then Pres. Nelson removed his mask and the guy was so surprised. He said he only had about 1 minute left to talk to him and this was his advice, "You need to dive into the scriptures and make them a priority in your life. Your problems will not go a way but I promise you you will be inspired and strengthened to get through the difficulties you face." I love that counsel. I also love that as our prophet, his first talk in conference was about increasing personal revelation in your life. Don't just take his word for things, find your own revelation to know the gospel is true and to guide your life. So wonderful!
Many people think we as a church are crazy for having a prophet. But why would we not? All through time prophets have existed as a mouthpiece for God. For those who think prophets are no longer on the earth, their logic must be 1. We no longer need a prophet, 2. God loves us less than previous generations 3. The Lord no longer desires to direct His church. Of course none of these are true. I'm so grateful to have witnessed and sustained a new prophet of God.
I love you my angel boy! I can't wait to hear how the training is going. How is your new comp? How is junior doiing?
I love you so very much!
