ok so first, before i forget do you think you can send a blade sharpener in the next package (no rush at all) or am i better off using my money on just buying a few extra razors??

its ok i understand that happens sometimes. I hope you can be on next week! haha sorry mom its your job now since i dont have sally or anyone else i gotta talk with my momma every week! Just let me know in your email next week if you think you will or wont be able to be on. The wedding is going to be super fun family time! I still remember katies wedding that was a blast. i hope you guys get to meet sams mission president! that would be awesome. i feel really great about president ribeiro. i believe he is an awesome leader and always has a great spirit with him. i also love his vision for the mission and the way he is changing things. he wants to baptize less but with much better quality. cause with the last mission president we were baptizing like crazzzzzy (up to 300 in one month) but everyone was going inactive and some people werent even going back to be confirmed or get the priesthood. I love everything that he is doing to help the mission. plus, i heard from the DL that he talked really well about me to him. i think he really really likes me. he told the DL that youll have a really good missionary in your district named Elder Gurksnis.

Good luck with the start of the flip house! Work Hard! i know you guys will be successful! i will be praying for you and also for erik this week. he emailed me and told me about how blessed he is feeling right now and asked if i would pray to help him get this job.

that is an awesome story! that is seriously crazy. Id love to ski with president nelson! My favorite part is that just by reading the scriptures, God wont take away your problems. but its what is in the scriptures that will strengthen you and help your outlook with these problems. you will be able to face them with so much more power.

Ive been reading in the old testament. Just finished Genesis and am into Exodus! Then Ill start with that list you sent me. I loved the story about Joseph and the coat of many colors. I remember watching  the video as a kid a ton but ive never actually read it. I have the least knowledge of scripture in the old testament so im glad to be reading it and refreshing myself on some stories and stuff.

Hebrews 13:8 says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I dont see why we wouldnt need a prophet today! in the world today, we certainly do need him to help guide us. You can certainly see how much he helped the church with the way everyone talked about his conference talk. Thats all that was talked about in our fast and testimony meeting this weeek!

New comp and training is going well. Hes a hard worker and im enjoying my time with him. Its Elder Jairo from Fortaleza, CiarĂ¡. He was baptized less than 4 years ago and is the only member in his family! that takes courage! Im honestly totally good with him teaching and everything. He is a little dirty which is my first comp to be like that. and i would say hes kinda just a little uneducated. you can kinda just tell after spending a week with him. Its not commmon in the USA but here i think there is just less education and lots of people just do high school or dont even finish high school. But its honestly been a good time with him and ive been able to grow a tonnnn too! When you are training you feel alone sometimes cause they just arent in the hang of things yet. but its honestly forced me to be even better. and my language is improving like crazy and im having to do things that used to make me uncomfortable that are pushing me. Im loving it!

junior is good! we are trying to still get his wife to church but she works a ton and lives in another city so its been tough.

so last week we were with some other elders in our apartment cause they had lunch in our area. One of the elders went into the room with my suitcases, walked out, and said, "Is that your mini pharmacy in there?" hahahahha he was talking about the box you sent me with. but im so glad to have it cause i have already used several of the medicines and things in there! I have the best mom!

also this is a super weird and random question but i started to read that true to the faith i think in that collection of books. its just a list of topics and kind of the churches view on all of them. i read in abortion and obviously saw that the church is not in support. But i had a question about it that they didnt answer. Would "plan B" be considered abortion? Honestly from my point of view i dont think it would be, but i wanted to see if you knew anything about it.

love you mom! im having such a great time here and im so motivated by this work. Willing to do whatever to help these people! Cool experience this week: so we gave a blessing to the mom of a member who is really old and having trouble with her knees. i know this sounds weird but i literally could feel the power leaving my hands during the blessing. i know others have said they have felt the same thing before. it was a huge testimony builder of the priesthood that i think i needed. I love you mom!

its ok mom. just sad and confused. but i know the lord has a plan. just dont understand why it had to happen this way.  she is dating someone i think. he kinda looks like me lol except he has huge ears. your right. its just time to turn a corner. no matter how hard that is. im gonna write her a letter today just telling her how i feel and be done with it. im being transferred. I will go to Jardim Simos and be with an elder I dont know. I will be the senior companion which is really cool. Hes a brazilian, just finished his traning, and has about only 3 months on the mission. Im so glad and relieved. i was just ready to leave aguiar. he is just a difficult person sometimes.  love you mom.  yeah that sounds really difficult and probably something that would be really hard to do at the mission office haha. ok thank you for looking it up.  I love you so freaking much mom! You are my hero! Sorry that it has to be all annoying like this. I will defini...

Good morning my sweet boy! How was your week? I’m hoping there were some baptisms and the people followed through on their commitments:) Did you love conference? One of my favorite things about it was how I knew we were sitting there doing the exact same thing at the same time! That was comforting to me. I absolutely loved it! If you didn’t get a chance to watch the women’s broadcast you should try. I will send you an Ensign conference edition when it gets here so you can read all the talks again and study them. I feel like I received many personal messages from the talks. So many of them focused on our ability to stay faithful and receive comfort during trials... not one minute of our suffering is wasted. It is all for our good and our growth. That was one of the messages that I took away and feel strengthened by.  I also felt a recommitment to strengthening my conversion. That also seemed to be a theme of conference. Are we living the gospel by going through the motions and check...

Hey buddy!    I’m glad I finally get a chance to sit down and write. Baby stuff has taken over my life but we are very excited to have Harper with us in the next few weeks. Excited for you to meet your new little cousin when you return. Sounds like you are doing really well! I know you’ve had minor struggles and home sickness along the way, but it’s good to see you pumped and positive. Sounds like you’re doing a great job!     Hey listen, I know everyone has chimed in on the girl situation and you’re probably tired of talking about it at this point, but I wanted to try to talk to you about it as well because I’ve had the unwelcome pleasure of going through 3 life changing heart breaks that I never thought I’d recover from so I can speak to you from experience and hopefully put some perspective on things.     I had been with Alicia for 5 years, we were in love but it was more than that. It was how the family loved her, how much I loved her family and ...
