Hi momma! Pamela and Rafael are super super firm!!!! Marriage is on Wednesday, Baptism on saturday and confirmation on sunday! what an amazing and spiritual week it will be. im super excited. There kids are soooo cute. It takes a while for them to get used to new people so they are just now starting to mesh with us and we play with them and its so fun. So João is a 12 year old boy whose friend in our ward has brought to church a few times. The past 3 weeks he hasnt gone to church for some reason or another. Its been a little frustrating but we will try to get him to church one more time this week and baptize him the next week. He is maybe the poorest person ive worked with in Brazil. His dad doesnt have a job and collects trash like aluminum and stuff to sell for cents literally. There is lots of people that do that here but most of them are homeless. But João has a home its just very very run down. We actually helped them sort the trash on Saturday morning when we showed up at his house so that was definitely an experience. We will rely on this other family that is bringing him to help integrate him and to help him out with whatever he needs cause they are in a much better financial situation. So Raynathan and Lais actually were set to be baptized yesterday, but it didnt work out. We called them sunday morning and they said they werent ready yet. It was kinda a heartbreaker, but im used to it by now. Just gotta keep working and pray for them. We will try to set a marriage date with them this week and remark the baptism for 2 weeks from now as well. They live in seperate houses so we can baptize them whenever they are ready. Hahah i think they are having a really really hard time stopping to have sex. He already told us a little about it and i think that may be one of the motives. But I know it will test their faith and im gonna continue to challenge them to be strong and focus on the spirtual side of their relationship.
NO WAY MOM! IM ALMOST CRYING. That is soooo freaking sad. Dr. Watkins is seriously one of my life role models and i just talked with abby in my email that week that i couldnt wait for the lunch he was gonna take me out to when i get home. Ive already prayed for him and ill continue to pray. Let me know any updates you get.
Thats awesome news about the flip house! You guys are getting it done fast! And that is also awesome about kenny. he is a stud and im sure he was able to help a lot. Id love to see the final pics. Was dad really skinny dipping??? oh my goodness. Sounds like a fun get together at brookes. The swimming pics of harper are cute.
YES FINISHED THE OLD TESTAMENT READING YESTERDAY! can you believe ive finished the whole standard works in 9 months (!!!! WOHHHH 9 months!!!) on my mission?!?! Well only parts of the old testament but still. This morning i started O LIvro de Mórmon! Im super super excited. I loved daniel specifically. It has 2 great stories in such a small book.
What?! thats so cool that she is deciding what she will do. I thought about how we will do that next year with my schedule. Ill probably have to sin and spend lots of time on the computer on p day. But it will be worth it to get a schedule i want and im sure you will be able to help a lot too.
I LOVE those thoughts from president Nelson. He seems like such an inspired man goodness. I wanted to see it last night but as missionaries we never get to go to those things. Its a cool way to think about it that even when you face difficulties in your life, you can know that it was literally God who sent you those difficulties. and he sent you them because he loves you and wants you to learn from them. I love that he put a focus on missionary work. The US, especially does a terrible job in missionary work (talking about the members...at least i think) and its something that we could really help so many people out with if we just open our mouths without fear.
I Love you momma! so much!
