Hi Sweets!
AHHH! Finally a monday where I can be totally focused on talking with you! I'm excited to just get to really hear how you've been and what you've been doing!
I sent you lots of pics. Abby and I had a fun day in Seattle last monday. We went to the top of the space needle and then road a huge ferris wheel that is right on the water ... it feels like you are going to fall right in the ocean. Its a very pretty city. Reminds me a lot of San Francisco but greener. Our flight didn't leave Seattle until midnight but we went back to the airport at 8:30 because it was so cold! In july it was freezing at night and we weren't prepared for it. But we had a great day.
This week has just been readjustiing after vacation mode. I have another listing that I'm getting ready that should go up for sale this weekend. It's just a small house but I'm really grateful to be working. i can't remember if I told you that the day that we were leaving for Colorado, we were going to go to the investment house to just make sure it looked good before we left and get things cleaned up. When I got to the house, a huge tree limb had broken off the big tree that is next to the pool. It took Dad, Abby and I, two and a half hours to chainsaw the tree limb into pieces small enough to fit into the truck. We couldn't even fit all of it in the truck because it was so huge. It was crazy because we had a showing that day and we were leaving town that night! UGH. Kinda funny now that I look back on it. We had two more showings today. I'm going to the temple this week to hopefully get so guidance on what to do about this house. I keep thinking that someone is going to want this house but it is a little stressful worrying about this. I know you've been praying for us and I appreciate it so much, Sweetie. Keep up the prayers. Were praying hard too.
I'm starting to get information together for seminary this year. We are studying Doctrine and Covenants. I'm excited to learn more about church history. I was reading something about Joseph Smith that after he translated the BoM, he turned to DAvid Whitmer and said something like, "Well, I think I'm done now." Even then he had no idea what God had planned! This was before he received so many revelations and before temple blessings were established. It helps me to understand how difficult the restoration of the gospel really was. These were rough, uneducated farmers. The Lord worked with them to accomplish His goals and it couldn't have been easy. I don't think JS had any idea in the beginning how glorious and complete this work would be!
You're down to two weeks in Sorocoba! How are you feeling about that? How are your baptism commitments coming along? YOu've done such amazing work and poured your heart and soul into this area. I'm sure it will be bittersweet to leave. You've become quite a missionary while there and you've learned so much. Soon you will take all that experience somewhere new and work with new people. I'm excited for you to finish strong here and also to start new somewhere else soon. Have you had any meetings (leadership/training/zone/etc) lately? Have you seen your mission president much lately?
Send lots of pictures today! I really want to see more of your experiences! It helps me to feel like I'm part of it.
Are you feeling better about Sally? It sounded like you had a little bit of a rough week last week. I wanted to tell you also that early acceptance to the finance program just means she applied early. Sam could have done that too but he didn't get the application finished early. If he had, it only takes about 2 weeks and then they notify you. Sam should hear this week if he's been accepted. I think you should definitely take out Saylor Adcock when you get home! She is a catch and going into accounting. She might be on a mission when you get home but that's fine. You can meet her when she gets home. You honestly couldn't marry into a more awesome family than hers that is for sure!
We didn't really talk about you hitting 10 months! I can't believe it! You have a significant part of your mission completed. I'm already getting your "hump day" (1 year mark) package ready to send. I'm just sending it the regular way via mail. I got your other package sent off with the delivery company. They fly to Brazil on friday the 20th. I would imagine your package would be at your mission office shortly after that. Remember that there are 10 $1 bills in the pages of your new journal. I'm excited for you to get the package.
Sam made $1000 this weekend selling ATVs. He's really doing well and Abby has made some cash as well. I think about $500 in total in just about 2-3 weeks. Sam said you want to do it too. I just want to confirm with you what you want to do exactly. Abby has invested $2000 and Sam just venmos her the profit everytime he sells one. He keeps the $2000 to reinvest and buy more atvs. He'll give that money back to her at the end of the summer i think.
I can't wait to hear from you today! I have thought about you so much this week. I love and miss you so much my sweet boy! You are something special and I'm so proud you are my son.
xoxoxo
I love you more than the sun, and the moon, and the stars!
