Hello gorgeous boy!!!

How is my wonderful son?  How was your week sweet boy? I'm hoping your investigators (I can't pronounce their names... lol) are doing great.  Any of them ready for baptism? What did you do for Pday? Can't wait to hear all about it!

We had a good week.  Sam was home til Thursday night.  He spent lots of time getting his hunting spots ready and is hoping to come home a couple of times in the fall to hunt.  I think he spent some serious cash! He and Stanton got things ALL set up on the Kidingers land.

We've also been getting Abby ready for school.  I can't believe we are leaving in just over 1 week.  We will leave Tuesday (9/11) and get to Denver that day.  Then we will drive to Utah and get to SLC Wednesday afternoon.  Then right on up to Idaho on Thursday.  We will probably do a little shopping in SLC before we get to Idaho and there ).

So the big news came yesterday when we had a sacrament meeting with all 3 prosper wards.  They created a new 4th ward (which is mainly everything west of Preston and all near where Ama and Pop Pop live).  But we are no longer in the 1st ward. We are now in the 2nd ward with Bishop Schofield. So here are some families that are now in our ward... Stantons, Cordys, Argyles,Platts, plus we keep all of the families in our neighborhood like the Steeds, Thrashers, etc.  It will be a good ward.  I think there might be some drama from some of the youth (Argyle girls plus the Memory girl from our ward) but I'm not really involved in that anymore.  Did I tell you by the way that Caden Vandygriff had to postpone his mission 1 year.  He was dating Kirsten Memory who is a little crazy and everyone warned him about her, but he was pretty smitten.  It is really sad.  I had lunch with sister Vandygriff this week and just tried to encourage her.  She is really worried about Caden staying focused on getting out on his mission.  A year is a long time to wait.  I don't know if you can remember who any of these people are.  lol.

Abby's boyfriend (kinda) came in last night.  So far I like him a lot. Super nice kid.  Smart and thoughtful.  I'm glad I get the chance to get to know him better.  I'll let you know what I think after this week.

Here is my spiritual thought for the day... It is a quote from Elder Uchtdorf that I heard at education week.  It is really good at explaining the difference in having fear vs. faith.  He said, "It is true that fear can have a powerful influence over our actions and behavior. But that influence tends to be temporary and shallow. Fear rarely has teh power to change our hearts, and it will never transform us into people who love what is right and who want to obey Heavenly Father. People who are fearful may say and do the right things, but they do not feel the right things. They often feel helpless and resentful, even angry. Over time these feelings lead to mistrust, defiance, even rebellion. God is on our side. He loves us, and when we stumble, He wants us to rise up, try again, and become stronger. My beloved friends, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, if we ever find ourselves living in fear or anxiety, or if we ever find that our own words, attitudes, or actions are causing fer in others, I pray with all the strength of my soul that we may become liberated from this fear by the divinely appointed antidote to fear; the pure love of Christ, for perfect love casteth out fear. Christ's perfect love gives us the confidence to press through our fears and place our complete trust in the power and goodness of our Heavenly Father and of his Son, Jesus Christ."

I really like this because typically you thing that faith is the opposite of fear, but the antidote to fear is not just more faith... but the love of Christ.  Feeling that in your life will truly change who you are and can elimiante fear because you know he loves you so things will all work out.

Does that make sense?  I feel like I'm rambling a little bit but it makes perfect sense to me:)

I love you Elder G!  We are going to have a big 1 year celebration on 9/6!!!!  I'm so excited to start counting backwards!  Are you going to burn anything?  How will you celebrate?  When do you think you will talk to President Ribiero about coming home in August to start school?

Cant wait to chat, my love!

love,
 mom

Good morning my sweet boy! How was your week? I’m hoping there were some baptisms and the people followed through on their commitments:) Did you love conference? One of my favorite things about it was how I knew we were sitting there doing the exact same thing at the same time! That was comforting to me. I absolutely loved it! If you didn’t get a chance to watch the women’s broadcast you should try. I will send you an Ensign conference edition when it gets here so you can read all the talks again and study them. I feel like I received many personal messages from the talks. So many of them focused on our ability to stay faithful and receive comfort during trials... not one minute of our suffering is wasted. It is all for our good and our growth. That was one of the messages that I took away and feel strengthened by.  I also felt a recommitment to strengthening my conversion. That also seemed to be a theme of conference. Are we living the gospel by going through the motions and check...

Hey buddy!    I’m glad I finally get a chance to sit down and write. Baby stuff has taken over my life but we are very excited to have Harper with us in the next few weeks. Excited for you to meet your new little cousin when you return. Sounds like you are doing really well! I know you’ve had minor struggles and home sickness along the way, but it’s good to see you pumped and positive. Sounds like you’re doing a great job!     Hey listen, I know everyone has chimed in on the girl situation and you’re probably tired of talking about it at this point, but I wanted to try to talk to you about it as well because I’ve had the unwelcome pleasure of going through 3 life changing heart breaks that I never thought I’d recover from so I can speak to you from experience and hopefully put some perspective on things.     I had been with Alicia for 5 years, we were in love but it was more than that. It was how the family loved her, how much I loved her family and ...
