ok so i have quite a bit to tell you. There is a lot of new things i guess with this new calling. Im pretty excited. I know it will be a good experience for me. and holy crap i know this doesnt matter a ton right now, but this will be literally incredible for me to put on my resume.
It was an emergency transfer, but that is kinda normal for the secretaries. cause i am going through a period of 2 weeks of training with the old financial secretary. its impossible to do the training quickly but president also doesnt want him staying here for a whole transfer to train me. So usually the secretaries are always transfered by emergency. My old comp is with a new Zone Leader. Its a guy who just got called to be a ZL and hes a good cool guy so im excited for him to take over my investigators. President honestly told me last tuesday after the misison leadership meeting. It was kinda funny. He called me in but i thought he was gonna talk with me about my mission card that was hacked, but then all the sudden he starts asking me worthyness questions hahah i was thinking about everything i had ever done bad lol. But then i realized he was doing that cause he was calling me to a new calling. He asked me how my area was doing and i said "wonderful, its a blessed area" and then he asked "how would you feel leaving it?" hahah but i feel good about it all.
My companions (im in a trio) are Elder Esteves from Portugal/England and Elder Araújo from São Luis, Maranhão in Brazil. Elder Esteves is the one training me. So he will just be my comp for these two weeks until the end of the transfer. But then i will probably stay with Elder Araújo for the rest of my misison. Haha cause we both just got transferred here so we will both stay for a while. But its all good cause hes a cool guy and im excited to work with him. Hes a really good teacher/missionary and he seems like an intersting guy.
We live in the Mission House which is the main house in the whole mission that is used for pretty much everything. Its actually a really nice house in a really fancy neighborhood for here. The house is pretty big. Ill send a video next week.
Yeah i handle literally all the finances of the mission. From reimbursements of misisonaries to Presidents special card to paying some rents (the majority are automatically paid) and then paying like services that people do in missionary houses. Im learning how to do the things the only thing that is hard is to learn the order that everything has to be done and the "why?" we do each thing. Cause if i dont understand the why i wont really get a grasp of it. But i still got a good amount of time to learn i think ill catch on. Itll be hard but im trusting that ill get it down.
There are 7 missionaries in the office right now. My trio (elder araújo is the secretary of the mission houses), then there is an executive secretary and resgistry secretary and there are 2 secretaries who work with referalls from the church website and social media. But these 2 dont even live with us and they will only be doing this until the end of march. So the other 4 i am with i live with them. Its currently us 5 in the big house. Sometimes there are misisonaries that just stay with us for a night because of like doctors appts, transfers, etc. Im not a big fan of the elder that is training me, but he'll be leaving in less than 2 weeks so thats all good. But the rest of the guys are good friends. I like them a lot and they like to have fun so thats good.
Yeah we have been able to get out and teach this week. We actually have some good investigators and have a baptism this week of a young guy who was a referal from a member and was at church last week. We have an actual area. But there is another companionship of sisters that also works in our area. But its all good. its a good area still, a little rich, but we will have success. I still wanna baptize a ton. Its true, 10-4 isnt too productive, but it will still be a big challenge for us. But im excited to take it on. On Monday we eat with President after our meeting(: then tuesday-friday we eat here in the office. We have 20 reais to spend, so we can buy whatever we want. There is even a burger king close(: then on saturday and sunday we eat with families in the ward cause those 2 days we work the whole day in the area.
im way exited for parker. Ill send him an email today but we have talked recently. i cant believe this part of our lives is coming to an end!!!
ok about rooming im gonna email some friends today. i really am not trying to room with people i dont know. ANd if i have to wait on isaac and there arent the best apts left, thats not a big deal for me if i can live with him.
thats an awesome quote by our prophet. I love the outlook he has had as he literally travelled the whole world in these last years. I love him so much and know he is a prophet sent from God. He is killing it my nig!
