hey momma! i dont know if i would say that i feel like i have "enough" time but i feel like the time is sufficient and that the Lord is blessing us as we work hard with the little time we had. We kinda saw 2 examples this week of missionaries slacking off and us getting to work and us being blessed because of that. On Saturday night we saw the sister missionaries from our ward going home early. It was rainy and kinda miserable and we were soaked but we wanted to keep working. We had an appt at 8 with a girl named vitoria from the english class. Turns out she is an elect!!! She already shared with us the insane desire she has to serve a mission. She thinks what we do is so cool. Its so funny and weird the first case ive ever had like this. We found her on saturday night and she showed up to church alone on sunday. She felt so great at church and loved everything about it. She asked great questions like "how can i know this is true for myself?" She feels a desire to be baptized but we will have to talk to her mom cause she is super catholic and i dont know how easy that will be. But im hoping the spirit will touch her. But i felt super blessed for working that night and finding her because of our diligence.
Then on Sunday after church and lunch we came back home to leave our suits at home. The other elders that live with us were in bed sleeping but we went back out to work. We went to a mans house who we had just done a quick contact with. But i felt something super strong about him ever since i did that contact. He didnt seem like the most elect person, but i knew we had to return there. So we went back on sunday night, turns out they received us super well and we taught a FAMILY OF 4! Him, his wife, and his two twin daughters! They accepted baptism and will be at church on sunday!! I felt so blessed for using the little time we have in our area and i know the Lord took care of us and blessed us because we went out to work and were diligent.
Im loving my calling as financial secretary. It is so great to be with president so often and our meetings on monday mornings are incredible. he teaches us some great stuff. I love the work i do, even though it can be a little stressful. I think it will be great great experience for what i want to do in life. Its great to be with some good guys in the office as well. Im feeling more comfortable now and feel like i know a little bit better what im doing. But it will be a continual process of learning for sure.
IM SO PROUD OF PARKER. MAN I LOVE THAT KID. He is a stud. He was the first one of us to start the repentance process and i know that was a difficult step for him to take to be corageous like that. I still feel like it was yesterday. And know he is a completely changed man. I cant wait to hear his testimony and how he has changed over these 2 years. When does he head up to school?
I feel so grateful to have 5 months left too. I think nothing i do in these 5 months will make me not miss the mission when i get home. But i do feel like although i havent been a perfect missionary, i have given my best in everything that i do. Ive had my difficulties, but ive tried every day to be better than the last. Im grateful to continue this progress for the next 5 months and be able to find more people who are need of this gospel and have an impact on their lives. I think it will be a great feeling knowing that i left my all in brazil. I left hard work, blood, sweat, and tears (literally).
i think the happiest thing of this email is hearing that we have a convert in our ward!! that is awesome! im so proud of him and for sticking through it. That is so inspiring. The true heroes out on the mission are the recent converts who have no family in the church. Can you believe the things they have to go through? Those people inspire me.
I love that quote. It reminds me of the part of the bible that talks about how hardhearted men know how to give good gifts, so how much better is the Lord in giving us the things we need. He knows us so well and has soooo much love for us. So he will give us exactly the things we need if we show him a little effort and try to follow his commandments.
I love you mom. I cant wait for the moment to run into your arms in the airport. But im so grateful for the time i have here. I really sincerely, sincerely love this work. I love stoppinp people in the street and teaching them the gospel. I love teaching families about the temple and that they have a chance to have an eternal family. I love this work really. Im sure anxious to get home and do a few things, but im also dying just to stay here. Its such a weird feeling, but through every step you guys have supported me. Im so grateful for that.
Love you momma
